Get a Clear View with Wagner Tuning Dsiplay MFD15 Gen2 for Your Mazda MX5/Miata NB

Our inspiration came from one of our customers who wanted to individually integrate an MFD15 into their Mazda MX5. The result: a special conversion kit that allows you to remove the original oil pressure gauge and install our state-of-the-art display - all without cutting! This is the Wagner Tuning Dsiplay Mazda MX5 NB Tachometer Conversion.

    Key Features

    • Plug and Play: Installation into the original dashboard, replacing the oil pressure gauge

    • Shift Light: The LED on the front of the display can be used as a shift light and/or warning LED and can be freely configured

    • Can Bus: Support for Can Bus control units or create your own Can Stream

    • WLAN: Connect to your smartphone or PC and perform all further steps via our web UI

    • Additional Inputs: Connect up to 6 analog sensors to the inputs or directly connect an ethanol sensor* to the display

    • Preset Alarms: Pre-configured warnings can be easily activated and customized. Get a big warning if the exhaust temperature exceeds 900 degrees, for example.

    • Customization: Use your own startup logo or background image to make it your MFD15 Gen2

    • Online Logging*: Log your data with your smartphone or PC and save the log for later analysis on your device

    • Flex Fuel*: Display ethanol content and temperature on your display

    • Can Switching*: Switch Can switches via the buttons on your display and route the measurements of your analog inputs to the Can Bus

    Various Views

Choose up to eight pages from various views and customize your display to suit you and your vehicle best:

    • Analog Needle

    • Double Value

    • Gear Display

    • 4-value Display

    • 6-value Display

    • Bar + Double Display

    • Circular Display

    • Bar Chart (double horizontal)

    • Performance Meter

    • Bar Chart (1-6-fold vertical)

    • Single Value

    Online DSS – oDSS

Brand new with our MFD15 Gen2 is access to the device via WLAN. This allows you to set up the MFD15 Gen2 via smartphone or PC.

With the oDSS, you can fully configure your display, log values (license required), upload your own startup image, and update the display as well.

    Supported Values

A popular customer question is, What values can I query from my control unit? The answer: ALL - Our MFD15 Gen2 is compatible with ISO 11898-2 and SAE J2284.

The control unit manufacturers determine which values are sent via the CAN Bus interface. Documentation is important here - possibly even in the form of a DBC file that can be imported via our DSS. Of course, you can access our extensive list of already implemented control units as a customer. Depending on the manufacturer, up to 64 sensors can be queried.

    Default inclusions:

    – OBD2 – 11 and 29-bit

    – Ecumaster - Classic and Black

    – VAG PQ34

    – Haltech v2

    – LinkECU

    – MaxxECU

    – Motec M1

    – Emtron

    – Megasquirt 2 and 3

If the desired control unit is not listed, you can download or request the appropriate TRI/TRX in our database.

    Internal LED

The internal LED can be used both as a shift light and as a warning LED.

As a shift light, you can assign up to 8 different colors and speed limits as well as a speed at which the shift light starts flashing.

As a warning LED, you can assign a minimum and maximum value for each sensor (via Sensors in the oDSS) and activate the LED there as well. If the sensor is above the maximum value or below the minimum value, the LED will flash in the previously configured color. The shift light is deactivated during the warning period.

    Connection and Expansion

    With every delivery, you get:

    • MFD15 Gen2 Display suitable for your Mazda MX5 NB

    • Plug B (6-way)

    • Plug C (12-way)

    • 20cm pre-crimped connection cables for power supply, Can Bus, analog inputs, 5V, and sensor ground

    • Pins for self-crimping

    • Two 1K resistors (for pull-up for NTC sensors)

    • Vehicle-specific installation frame and connection cables

You can connect any sensors via the six analog inputs - we support both linear 0-5V and NTC sensors.

Our in-house Wagner Tuning Dsiplay sensors are pre-configured in the TRI-/TRX files and only need to be connected:

    • AIN1: Temperature Sensor

    • AIN2: Converter for Type K Exhaust Gas Temperature Probe

    • AIN3: Pressure Sensor 0-10 Bar

    • AIN4: Boost Pressure Sensor 0-5.5 Bar absolute

    • AIN5: Not pre-configured

    • AIN6: Not pre-configured

For the connection, you can use our pre-assembled 4-fold AIN harness.

If you have the appropriate license*, you can also directly connect an ethanol sensor to the display using a separate pin.

    Optional Accessories

    • CC22501 ETK01 - External knob with PnP 50cm connection cable

    • WT22100 CBD08 - Eight-way Can Distribution Hub

    • WT22902 NTC01 - Temperature Sensor for Liquids 1/8 NPT

    • WT22903 TCC01 - Type K Converter 0-1250°C

    • WT22901 FLP01 - Pressure Sensor 0-10 Bar (145psi) M10x1

    • WT22900 BST01 - Boost Pressure Sensor 0-5.5 Bar absolute (80psi)

    *Additional Licenses

    Live Logging of MFD15 Gen2

With the Live Logging additional license, your display can log the sensor data into the oDSS. You can then download the log as a file to your smartphone or PC.

All sensors in the log are logged (NOTE: for OBD and UDS, only the currently displayed sensors are logged!). Choose the sensors you want to graphically display.

Flex Fuel Ethanol Sensor Directly on MFD15 Gen2

With the additional license for the ethanol sensor, you can connect a sensor directly to the display. You need a 10K pull-up resistor between 5V and signal.

Now you can view and log both ethanol content and fuel temperature.

    Can Switching and AIN Forwarding

With the additional license for Can Switching and AIN Forwarding, you can switch Can switches via the buttons on your display or the knob and send the input voltages of your analog inputs to the Can Bus.

    Installation Instructions

The conversion is done by the customer themselves. Don't worry; you can download the installation instructions beforehand. You'll be surprised at how smoothly the installation goes with our guide.
